Born from the Monterrey restaurant Señor Tanaka, this Polanco offshoot skews younger and bolder—more meat, heavier on the grill, and a rock-pop soundtrack that sets it apart from quieter sushi spots. The menu runs from standout rolls like the Señora Tanaka and Atomic Roll to wagyu dumplings, chu-toro roll, and nigiris topped with eel and foie gras. The short rib gets strong orders, and the kitchen handles both sushi and grilled cuts with precision.
The space is dark, designed for drinks and conversation, with a well-curated wine list and cocktails like the St. Germain Spritz and Gin & Roses. Late hours (open until 2am) make it a solid choice for post-dinner rounds. Reservations are a good idea, especially on weekends.
