This landmark exhibition brings together historic and contemporary Chicano art from multiple generations of Mexican and Latino artists based primarily in Los Angeles. Curated by Rubén Ortiz-Torres, Jesse Lerner, and Joshua Sánchez, the show offers a complex reading of a movement that is artistic, cultural, and political at once, presented at a moment when migration and diaspora are again at the center of public debate. The Palacio de Bellas Artes becomes the stage for a critical reflection on the shared history between Mexico and the United States and the gaps in dominant art narratives.
