Terraza Catedral sits atop the Mundo Joven hostel building, one block from the Zócalo, with straight-on views of the Catedral Metropolitana and the Torre Latinoamericana. Access is through the hostel entrance on República de Guatemala — take the elevator to the sixth floor, then one flight of stairs to the open-air terrace.

The menu leans toward shareable plates and cold beers on tap, with the molcajete de carnes standing out as a solid bet. Weekends bring a DJ and a cover charge (typically around the mid-tier range), and the terrace fills up quickly after 5pm. Hours are more limited Sunday through Thursday, closing earlier than Friday and Saturday, so arrive before late evening if you want more than a quick drink.
