Teatro Orientación opened in August 1957 in the Centro Cultural del Bosque to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the venue's children's theater program, launching with a puppet show called Mundo de Maravillas. Named after playwright Luisa Josefina Hernández, this mid-sized theater is one of several in the cultural complex behind Auditorio Nacional, presenting a rotating calendar of plays, music, dance, children's shows, and festivals run by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Seating is comfortable, acoustics are solid, and ticket prices are accessible to the general public — even more so for students and teachers, who receive significant discounts. The venue recently underwent renovations. Arrive early if you bought tickets in advance to secure access to the limited on-site parking; otherwise, street parking with viene-vienes runs around 150-200 pesos.
