Salón Corona (Centro)

Open since 1928 in an 18th-century building on Bolívar, Salón Corona is a Centro Histórico institution for draft beer, traditional Mexican guisados, and seafood. The menu runs deep — pastor, cochinita pibil, picadillo, romeritos, mole, pulpo, barbacoa, arrachera, plus seafood cocktails — served as tacos, tortas, and gringas. The draft beer program is the real draw: a classic tarro campechano (half clara, half oscura) served cold, the kind of beer-forward drinking spot that's been part of the neighborhood's fabric for nearly a century.

The space is large, a bit tight between tables, and good for catching a game or bringing friends and family. It's affordable and central — a Metro Zócalo walk away. Cash and card accepted. The cochinita pibil tacos and the gringa with cheese are solid orders.
