Salón Caribe

A two-level salsa dance hall on Ribera de San Cosme that's been running for over 26 years. Live orchestras rotate through every hour, and the crowd skews older — mostly 50+ — with dancers who know their steps and aren't shy about leading newcomers through them.

Admission is affordable, as are the drinks — beer, soft drinks, and water all easy on the wallet. You'll need to buy a bucket to claim a table. It gets hot and crowded inside, especially on weekends, and starts at 4pm, wrapping up by midnight. Valet parking is available, and San Cosme metro station is a short walk.
