Nagaoka

Nagaoka has been serving Japanese food in Nápoles for decades, and the consistency shows. The menu runs deep — sushi, sashimi, grilled teriyaki skewers, cream cheese-stuffed calamari in sauce over vegetables, grilled shrimp, and battered calamari all make regular appearances. The tasting menu is popular and includes dessert, though the eel over rice and teriyaki skewers deserve their own orders.

The interior leans into traditional Japanese decor with paintings and figures that set the tone without overdoing it. Service is attentive from the moment you walk in, and the kitchen moves quickly even when the dining room fills up. Reservations are a good idea, especially on weekends — the place fills fast. Open Tuesday through Saturday 1pm to 10:30pm, Sunday hours vary.
