Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera

Built in 1967-68 for the 1968 Olympics, this indoor arena seats 5,242 and showcases an innovative suspended roof that allowed the architects — Eduardo Gutiérrez Bringas, Antonio Recamier, Manuel Rossen, and Juan Valverde — to create an 11,152 m² column-free interior. The design integrates warm-up zones and services connected by exterior ramps, and today it hosts everything from basketball (it's home to Ángeles de la Ciudad de México) and wrestling to watch parties and martial arts tournaments.

Sight lines are solid from any seat, though it gets warm inside on hot days — bring a hand fan. Street parking around the venue is managed by attendants who typically charge a fee. Bathrooms could use more attention, and there's limited food and drink sold inside, so plan accordingly.
