This chamber music recital celebrates the 80th birthday of Federico Ibarra, one of Mexico's most important living composers, with three representative works spanning four decades: Cinco manuscritos pnakótikos (1977), Sonata for violin and piano (2013/2014), and El viaje imaginario (1994). The programme showcases the different instrumental dialogues and atmospheres that define Ibarra's chamber catalogue, performed at the intimate Sala Carlos Chávez. A rare opportunity to hear the arc of a major compositional voice in a single evening.
